New MBD Album- Kisufim: Next Week!

For all the MBD fans there is a reason to celebrate.....next week!

Succos Concert: MBC, Yumi Lowy & Ari B!

Here is the advertisement for the latest big Succos Concert. I found it interesting that they are now promoting Ari Boiangiu. I guess names like Steve Bill or Yochi Briskman have gone stale and the new faces of great Jewish musicians that are popular are the ones you see on the latest youtube videos? Even more interesting is the dig to YBC that MBC only uses live performances and not pre-recorded vocals. It's an interesting way to set yourself apart from the pack.  Lastly is the venue of the concert. Are there budget constraints or are all the major concert halls taken? The Palace is certainly not the best place for a concert. It's a wedding hall or party room.  The acoustics will make things a bit tricky for the sound people as there is a decent amount of echo. Perhaps having a large crowd will absorb some of it but it will make listening from a far a bit interesting.

For the first time ever! A Simchas Yom Tov with Miami! Yerachmiel Begun and the Miami Boys Choir performing amazing new songs and dances from their latest smash album, Me Lashem Ailai, and other Miami Classics.

Miami is the only authentic choir that continues to sing live in concert, with no pre-recorded choir vocals the audience hearing. And, you know you will be treated to a performance you can be sure will inspire and entertain you and your family with true torah values.

Also starring singing sensation, Yumi Lowy, singing from hit hit debut album.
And featuring great guitarist Ari Boiangiu with the Shirainu Orchestra.
Chol Hamoed Succos Tues. October 18, 2pm Separate Seating only.

Jewish Music Video: Ki Anu Amkekha

New single from PITOM with vocals by Yoshie Fruchter and the band (a departure from their previously all instrumental music). Text comes from high holiday liturgy and the arrangement is based on a hassidic version of the prayer.

The video intersperses live footage of the band with clips from early stop-motion animation genius Ladislaw Starewicz's films. The prayer "Ki Anu Amekha" deals with the human struggle with mortality and subservience to a greater power. Starewicz's creations, in parallel, seem to come alive with human emotion on film but cease to move without the magic of the camera.

Recorded and mixed by Jason LaFarge at Seizure's Palace
